Ea Air Induction Filters AMSOIL now offers universal air induction filters (EaAU) designed to replace stock oil wetted gauze or foam conical filters that were supplied with custom induction systems produced by K&N, Injen, S&B, Green, AIRAID, AFE, TrueFlow and more. AMSOIL Ea Air Induction Filters offer better efficiency, excellent airflow and are cleanable. | More Cold Air = More Horsepower The basic purpose of the air intake system is to bring cool air from outside the engine compartment into the engine. The cooler air is denser than the air found within the hot engine compartment. The denser charge contains more oxygen than warmer air, providing better combustion through a more effective air/fuel mixture. Another advantage of most specialty-equipment cold air intakes is their consistent diameters and the absence of sharp bends, both of which help to eliminate turbulence in the air stream. Large and Growing Market According to research done by the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA), a new air intake system is among the first modifications a consumer makes to his or her vehicle. Since changing the air filter alone cannot eliminate air restriction built into the vehicle at the factory, replacing the factory air flow assembly includes replacing the filter, air box and air path. SEMA reports sales of air intakes are over 300,000 every year. While intake kits were initially sold only for performance-type applications, they are now also being marketed and used as a way to boost fuel economy in SUVs, minivans, trucks and more. AMSOIL EaAU AMSOIL Ea Air Induction Filters fit most of the popular intake systems available. They provide improved cold air intake and a level of engine protection only an Ea Filter can provide. AMSOIL is currently offering nine Ea Air Induction Filters with varying lengths and widths. These filters have flange IDs of 3", 3.5", 4" and 4.5". Since these filters offer a universal fit, AMSOIL provides the dimension sheet below that customers can use to determine the proper filter for their applications. Cleanable AMSOIL Ea Air Induction Filters are cleanable and long lasting. AMSOIL recommends cleaning the Ea Air Induction Filter when designated by the restriction gauge if the vehicle is so equipped, or according to operating conditions. If it is used in extremely dusty environments or in a performance vehicle, more frequent cleanings may be required. Unique Design To increase filter surface area and the volume of air entering the engine, the top of the Ea Air Induction Filter is cut away. The media is inserted in a conical form pointing toward the direction of airflow. Quality Construction AMSOIL Ea Air Induction Filters are made from the same high-quality nanofiber media found in other AMSOIL Ea Air Filters. The nanofiber media is pleated with epoxy-coated wire on the face and back of the media for additional strength and stiffness. High quality, pliable urethane connectors with plastisol potting complete the product. Each Ea Air Induction Filter comes with a clamp for convenient installation. | AMSOIL# | Product Style | Flange Type | Base OD (in) | Flange ID (in) | Flange Length (in) | Media Height (in) | Top OD (in) | | EaAU3570 | Round Tapered | Center | 4.625 | 3.50 | 0.625 | 7.0 | 3.5 | | EaAU4090 | Round Tapered | Center | 6.000 | 4.00 | 1.750 | 9.0 | 5.0 | | EaAU3050 | Round Tapered | Center | 6.000 | 3.00 | 1.750 | 5.0 | 5.0 | | EaAU3051 | Round Tapered | Center | 6.000 | 3.00 | 1.750 | 5.0 | 4.0 | | EaAU3590 | Round Tapered | Center | 6.000 | 3.50 | 1.750 | 9.0 | 5.0 | | EaAU4560 | Round Tapered | Center | 5.875 | 4.50 | 0.625 | 6.0 | 5.0 | | EaAU3090 | Round Tapered | Center | 6.000 | 3.00 | 1.750 | 9.0 | 5.0 | | EaAU3555 | Round Tapered | Center | 4.625 | 3.50 | 0.625 | 5.5 | 3.5 | | EaAU3560 | Round Tapered | Center | 6.000 | 3.50 | 1.750 | 6.0 | 5.0 | | | | | | AMSOIL EaA Air Filters AMSOIL achieves Absolute Efficiency with new filter line. The introduction of AMSOIL Ea Air Filters represents a major breakthrough in filtration technology. For the first time, revolutionary nanofiber technology is available to the auto/light truck market. It’s another first for AMSOIL! See Pricing Information or Place an Order Ea Filter Cross Reference Guide | | | Nanofiber technology has been used exclusively in heavy duty applications, including the US ARMY Abrams M1 tank. AMSOIL has brought this technology to the auto/light truck market. AMSOIL Ea Air Filters provide the absolute best filtration and with an unmatched 4-year/100,000-mile guarantee, AMSOIL Ea Air Filters save money! Revolutionary Technology Nanofiber is a phrase generally referring to a fiber with a diameter less than one micron. Cellulose fibers, on the other hand, are larger than nanofibers and have larger spaces between the fibers, causing contaminants to load in the depth of the media and plug the airflow path, resulting in higher restriction and less capacity. AMSOIL Ea Air filters incorporate a specially constructed cellulose media with exclusive synthetic nanofibers applied to the surface. Dust and submicron particles are trapped on the nanofiber surface, preventing them from lodging in the filter media depth. Here’s how it works: Imagine two filtration media, a chain link fence and a mosquito net. Each is required to stop contaminants, in this case tennis balls. A tennis ball will fit quite nicely into an opening of a chain link fence, but will obstruct the hole almost 100 percent. Now, imagine a tennis ball covering a mosquito net. The tennis ball, at the point of contact with the netting, will obstruct much less filter area than the chain link fence example. In fact, air will flow around the tennis ball all the way to the point of contact. It will take many more particles to obstruct the netting surface area than the chain link fence. | | | Above: AMSOIL Ea Air Filters have more than three times the airflow of cellulose. Both wet gauze and Ea are below 0.5 inches of initial restriction. | | | | Above: AMSOIL Ea Air Filters hold 15 times more dust than a wet gauze type filter. | | | | Above: AMSOIL Ea Air Filter media removes 5 times more dust than traditional cellulose filters and 50 times more dust than wet gauze. | Air Filter Basics An engine needs air in order for combustion to occur, but the air drawn in through the induction system is loaded with contaminants. There are over 400 tons of suspended dirt and other contaminants in a cubic mile of air over a typical city. The concentration can be even higher in rural areas where there is frequent travel on unpaved roads. The dirt and contaminants drawn into an engine are the leading cause of engine wear. The function of the air filter is to trap and hold these wear causing contaminants without restricting air flow. As the filter traps more and more contaminants, air flow becomes restricted, smothering the engine and diminishing performance. The more wear causing contaminants a filtration media traps and the more contaminants the filtration media holds, while still allowing optimum air flow, the better the filtration media is. The new nanofiber technology used in AMSOIL Ea filters surpasses all other technology in efficiency, capacity and service life. With AMSOIL Ea Air Filters, dust and submicron particles remain on the surface and are trapped in the nanofibers, preventing particles from lodging in the filter media depth. This produces higher efficiency and higher capacity which extends engine and filter life and reduces engine wear. Ea Air Filters Capture More Dirt Efficiency is the ability of a filter to stop dirt and other airborne contaminants from entering the engine. The more efficient a filter is, the more dirt and contaminants it stops. Extensive testing proves that AMSOIL Ea Air Filters are more efficient than cellulose and wet gauze air filters. Allows More Air Flow Proper air flow is vital to maximize performance and engine life. Air is required to release the energy from the fuel being used. It takes 1,200 cubic feet of air to combust one gallon of gasoline. Inadequate air flow can cause serious loss of power, poor performance and excessive fuel consumption. Tests show that AMSOIL Ea Air Filters have more than three times the airflow of filters that use cellulose media alone. Holds More Dirt A filter’s ability to contain trapped contaminants determines how well an engine will run and how long the filter will remain effective. If the capacity is too low, the filter will have to be replaced constantly. When the filter is full, air cannot pass through at the rate necessary for proper engine performance. AMSOIL Ea Air Filters hold up to five times more contaminants than cellulose air filters. Since the nanofibers in the media are so small there are more pores per square inch, allowing for higher dirt-holding capacity and lower pressure drop when compared to cellulose filter media alone. Thinner media fibers produce more uniform pore size distribution, improving the filter’s overall quality and ability to capture and retain particles. Testing shows that Ea Air Filters hold 15 times more contaminants than a wet gauze type filter. The capacity is so great, in fact, that the new AMSOIL Ea Air Filters remain effective for a full 25,000 miles or one year before cleaning. This coincides with the AMSOIL 25,000-mile/one-year motor oil drain interval, adding even more convenience for motorists by consolidating routine maintenance. EaA filters should be cleaned every year or 25,000 miles, whichever comes first. Cleaning Instructions: - Carefully remove filter from the housing. Clean the housing with a shop towel being careful not to knock contaminants into the air inlet.
- Cleaning can be done by two methods:
- Vacuum Cleaning: Place the filter on a flat surface and carefully vacuum the filter media on the dirty side where the incoming airflow enters the filter. Be careful not to rub the filter pleats with the vacuum cleaner attachment too aggressively as this may damage the filter. Using a vacuum with too much suction may damage the filter.
- Shop Air Cleaning: Hold the filter with one hand and carefully blow the filter media at a 45-degree angle on the clean side of the filter using low-pressure (15 to 20 psi) shop air. Be careful not to rub the filter pleats with the air nozzle as this may damage the filter. Using too high of air pressure will damage the filter media.
- Reinstall the filter into the air filter housing and secure.

AMSOIL High Tack Foam Filter Oil is available in its traditional form and a new and convenient aerosol spray. Because it offers users quick and convenient application, the new spray formulation is a boon for power sports enthusiasts. | | | Advanced Media Technology Cellulose and blended medias found in most oil filters have larger fibers than the synthetic nanofibers found in the EaO Filters. They also have larger spaces between their fibers. This causes contaminants to load in the depth of the media and plug the oil-flow path, resulting in higher restriction and less capacity. The smaller fibers in synthetic media also have a controlled size and shape. This results in greater efficiency and capacity than cellulose filters, as well as better durability. AMSOIL Ea Oil Filters provide a higher level of engine protection, as well as extended filter change intervals. Oil Filtration Basics Clean oil is vital to engine performance and durability. Oil must lubricate, cool and clean the engine as it circulates. In order to remain effective it must be filtered as it cycles. The filter is connected to the engine sump, which contains the oil pump. Full-flow filters pass all the oil output from the pump through the filter. The function of the oil filter is to remove the contaminants introduced into the lubricating oil and prevent them from reaching sensitive engine parts without restricting normal oil flow to the various points requiring lubrication. Internal sources of contamination include wear products from the rubbing surfaces of the engine, blow-by gases leaking past the rings of the pistons and degradation of the oil itself. A filter must perform well in the areas of efficiency, capacity, flow and life. Absolute Efficiency Efficiency is the filter’s ability to capture contaminants. The more efficient a filter is, the more contaminants it will remove from the oil. To make a filter more efficient the spaces between the fibers in the media are made smaller, creating more resistance and limiting the oil’s ability to flow through the filter. Achieving maximum efficiency along with limited resistance is critical to good filtration. Extensive testing shows that AMSOIL Ea Oil Filters achieve a near-perfect absolute efficiency rating. The exclusive new technology used in AMSOIL EaO Filters provides filtering efficiency to 98.7 percent at 15 microns. EaO Filters are the most efficient filters that are available for auto/light trucks. | Maximum Capacity Capacity is the amount of contaminants a filter can hold and still remain effective. When a filter reaches maximum capacity the oil continues to flow through unfiltered, leaving harmful contaminants circulating in the oil. When a filter reaches maximum capacity it also reaches the end of its life and must be changed. AMSOIL EaO Filters have a far greater capacity than competing filter lines. When used in conjunction with AMSOIL synthetic motor oils in normal service, EaO Filters are guaranteed to remain effective for 25,000 miles or one year, whichever comes first. Durable Construction AMSOIL Ea Oil Filters are made with premium-grade full synthetic media. The strictly controlled processing of this media ensures accurate fiber construction and allows Ea Oil Filters to deliver higher capacity and efficiency, along with better durability. Over the service life of a cellulose filter, hot oil will degrade the resins that bind the media. EaO Filters’ full synthetic media technology uses a wire screen backing that is pleated with the media for superior strength. Ea Oil Filters are constructed with HNBR nitrile gaskets that are fully tested to extreme distances in numerous severe environments. The filters also feature fully tucked seams, a molded element seal, roll-formed threads and a long-lasting premium-grade silicone anti-drain valve. Imroved Flow Proper oil flow is essential to keep moving parts lubricated at all times. A filter without adequate flow properties can cause catastrophic engine failure. Flow is restricted as the spacing in the filter media is made smaller to provide greater efficiency. The synthetic nanofibers in AMSOIL Ea Oil Filters allow maximum efficiency without restricting flow. This provides unsurpassed cold-start performance and ensures proper levels of lubrication throughout the engine. Extended Service Intervals AMSOIL EaO Filters are guaranteed for 25,000 miles or one year, whichever comes first, when used in conjunction with AMSOIL Synthetic Motor Oil in gasoline and diesel vehicles in normal service. They are guaranteed for 15,000 miles for severe service. This coincides with the AMSOIL 25,000-mile/one year motor oil drain interval, adding even more convenience for motorists by consolidating routine maintenance. EaO Filters are recommended for use up to two times longer than OEM recommendations for commercial units, fleets and RVs using diesel fueled engines, not to exceed 60,000 miles for heavy-duty on-highway diesel applications. EaO Filter Q & A Why is the AMSOIL EaO synthetic media better than cellulose based oil filtration media? Synthetic media have submicron diameters (nanofibers) and small inter-fiber spaces which result in more contaminants being captured on the surface of the media and lower restriction. Cellulose fibers are larger and have larger spaces between the fibers, causing the contaminants to load inside the media and plug the flow path, resulting in higher restriction and lower capacity. Why does the AMSOIL EaO Filter use wire mesh? The synthetic media needs support. Will the AMSOIL EaO Filters remove soot? AMSOIL EaO Filters were designed to meet the filtration needs post EGR engine development. However, these are full-flow filters and are not designed as a soot control device. When used with other brands of motor oil or full-flow filters, the EaBP filter should be changed every other full-flow filter change. AMSOIL recommends using oil analysis when extending oil drain intervals. Increased Oil Capacity The increased fluid system capacity and filtration life provides improved oil cooling and ensures that equipment constantly runs on clean oil. Engine efficiency is increased and engine life is extended significantly. Soot Removal AMSOIL has designed a new high-efficiency by-pass filter element that is also a soot removal device. AMSOIL Ea by-pass Filters use a synthetic/cellulose sandwiched media. The inner layer of the element is composed of a highly efficient cellulose media covered with a full synthetic media outer layer. These filters remove 39 percent of soot contaminants less than one micron. Soot removal efficiency increases approximately 10 to 14 percent when the EaBP Filter is used in conjunction with a standard full-flow filter, even higher in conjunction with Ea Oil Filters or Donaldson Endurance filters. The Dangers of Soot The combustion process of diesel engines creates soot. After fuel is injected, combustion occurs with elevated soot levels as a byproduct of the process, and the combustion particulates become trapped on the exposed oil film. The rings wipe the particulates into the oil and the fine particulates aggregate, increasing levels of soot in the oil. Oil with dispersant additives will generally keep sootin the range of 0.002 to 0.5 microns in suspension; detergent additives prevent the build-up of sludge and act as an acid neutralizer, keeping soot in the range of 0.5 to 1.5 microns in suspension. These anti-wear additives work by providing a sacrificial chemical-to-chemical barrier. As the amount of soot suspended in the oil increases, the performance of these additives decreases. Soot Causes Wear As an oil’s soot dispersant additive level increases, wear reducing additives become less effective. This creates a direct linear correlation between wear and soot concentration; the higher the concentration of soot, the higher the level of wear. Today’s oil manufacturers are extending oil life by holding higher concentrations of contaminants, including soot, in suspension in the oil. They are also increasing fuel economy by reducing oil viscosity and oil film thickness. Therefore, even smaller sized contaminents are becoming critical in items in terms of creating wear. This further necessitates the use of by-pass filtration, especially in diesel engines. EaBP Vital Statistics AMSOIL will continue to offer three by-pass filters: the EaBP90, EaBP100 and EaBP110. All vehicles and applications that can accept the AMSOIL BMK11, 12, 13, 15, 16, 17 and 18 filter mounts can use the EaBP Filters. Per AMSOIL by-pass installation instructions, AMSOIL recommends by-pass filters be mounted as close to vertical as possible. The filters are equipped with an anti-drain back valve in the event they are mounted at an angle. Who Uses by-pass Filtration? by-pass filtration comes standard on all heavy-duty turbo diesel engine applications from OEMs such as Cummins, Mack and many more. It has been available as standard equipment or as an option from OEMs like Caterpillar, John Deere, Case and others, but it isn’t just for heavy-duty diesel operators. by-pass filtration is a valuable commodity for anyone that wants to extend drain intervals and prolong engine life. It is also beneficial to vehicles that are exposed to high levels of contaminants on a regular basis. | Dual Remote Filter System The AMSOIL Dual Remote Oil Filtration System converts an engine’s full-flow oil filter system into a full-flow/by-pass oil filtration system by attaching an AMSOIL Full-Flow Oil Filter and AMSOIL Spin-On By-Pass Oil Filter onto a remote mount. Donaldson P-Series Heavy Duty Filters Donaldson Filters AMSOIL is now introducing the P-Series of Donaldson filters to compliment the Endurance line. The expanded offering of filtration products features many applications that differ from, and several that coincide with the Endurance line. Donaldson P-Series filters offer premium filtration at a competitive price. AMSOIL now stocks all of Donaldson's most popular filter applications. Donaldson P-Series Lube Filters Increased engine emissions control and tighter tolerances within the engine require high efficiency filters. Donaldson P-Series filters are constructed with full synthetic or synthetic blend media for high efficiency. The media is embedded deeper into the sealing plastisol than conventional filters, allowing better sealing longevity. The lube filter can is constructed of heavy gauge steel, with many models having domed tops that provide superior pressure fatigue performance. The center tube allows more flow without compromising strength, and the louvered design eliminates tearing during pleat movement. The can and base plate are I assembled using a fully tucked seam, roll-formed threads, a nitrile sealing gasket and a compression spring holding all the components in place within the filter. Air Filters Donaldson P-Series filter media is made up of specially formulated fibers designed to trap contaminants such as dust, dirt and soot before they reach the engine. The media is pleated to maximize the filter surface area and placed between rigid liners to provide stability and. support. A high quality filter seal is applied or built-in to the open end of the filter to prevent dirty air from bypassing the filter. Donaldson has developed an extensive range of air filter media to provide the best engine protection no matter what the operating conditions. For example, using the same particle size contaminant, for every eight grams of dirt passed through a Luber-finer filter, the Donaldson filter passed only two grams. Coolant Filters Donaldson coolant filters are designed to maintain the proper chemical balance and reduce contaminants in the engine cooling system. AMSOIL offers a complete line of Donaldson filters with supplemental coolant additive (SCA) technology for the majority of heavy-duty diesel engines service requirements. SCA's are chemicals in the filter that are released into the coolant as it passes through. SCA's help resist corrosion and cavitation in the engine (Note: Although there is no need for SCA's when using AMSOIL Antifreeze & Coolant, the use of Donaldson Heavy Duty Filters along with AMSOIL Antifreeze & Coolant will not affect performance.). The heavy-duty construction works in a wide variety of operating environments. Donaldson filters feature heavy-duty thread plates, seals designed for extreme cold and heat, durable filter media and a unique center tube that increases flow and adds structural strength. Fuel Filters Today's engines are built to more stringent specifications and finer tolerances. Fuel systems, pumps and injectors require cleaner fuel to achieve better combustion and lower emissions.
